Belarus is a former Soviet state which gained its independence when the USSR dissolved in the early 1990s. Around ten million people live here. The capital city of Minsk, where I lived, is home to approximately two million of those. There are over 20 universities in Minsk alone.
What was I doing there?
From late 1998 through most of 1999, I lived in Minsk doing Short-Term INTernational missions (STINT) with Campus Crusade for Christ. Our team was involved in evangelism and discipleship with Belarusian university students. In short that means two things: One--to share the love of Jesus Christ to those who don't know Him, and Two--to build up current believers in their faith and teach them how to reach their lost friends.
